THE EAGLE'S VIEW
The old farm house, built in 1948, on the slopes of the Little Falls Mountain, has undergone many metamorphosis during the last six decades. Today we see it in all its 'hey day' splendour, again serving as accommodation, for its now extended family - Yes that includes you!
Ten new rooms were added in the end of 2009/start 2010. The young designer from Cape Town, Marc du Toit, kept the farm look exterior. This he matched with a modern interior, that still reflects its farm house origins.
The Conference Room and Board Room facilities, urge you to reflect on times long past.
Hennie, owner of the property and master mind behind the project, finds himself, hunting season after hunting season, in Botswana. Here he has been Operations Manager for the biggest hunting operaion in that country.
Alta, his long time companion, this year remained behind to oversee and run the Guest House. This she has been doing with the charm and ablomb of a seasoned campaigner.
Her Brother, Johan pops in from time to time to lend a hand, while she teaches him the ropes.
All three are sport and travel fanatics. The evidence is to be seen in the pub & in the office.
The year 2010 will always be remembered, in South Africa, as the year of the World Cup Soccer. We we privileged to have had many a foreigner lay his/her head down on our pillows. The air at the breakfast tables was infused by many languages from around the globe. We hope to welcome many of our new friends and their families back soon.
Geochace may be a new phrase to you, as it was to us, a couple of weeks ago. It is a world wide treasure hunt where participants use GPS points to locate these treasures. The idea is that this should lead to a cleaner environment. There are more than 6 treasures in the mountain behind Eagles View.
The smell of jasmine, accompanied with breath taking views of the green lush garden and city down below, will entice you to stay longer. The sound of the birds in the quiet surrounding will bring peace to your soul.
ENJOY YOUR STAY!

A little less than a year ago, South Africa was pulsating with energy, provided by the "beautiful game". Green and yellow shirts were seen everywhere. Flags were flying from most cars, roofs and hands. All South Africans were hoping for a Bafana-Bafana fairytale. This was provided to a small extend with the win over France.
Last Friday the wedding of William and Catherine gave us all a reason to believe in modern time fairytales. Beauty, splendour, grace and poise - so much of what is missing in everyday life.
Good luck to all the heroes that are taking part in the Comrades Marathon next month. Congratulations to all the finishers of the Ironman South Africa, that was held in April.
Please come and visit us at eagles View and experience old world charm with a modern twis.
